Products I’ve Used Up

Hello all. I am here today to share a few thoughts on some products I’ve used up recently. I’m only going to mention a few key items in this post as to not make this a super long post, but I hope you enjoy anyway!

I finished quite a few makeup products in the past few months, two of which were my two favorite foundations of all time: the Wet n Wild Coverall Cream Foundation and the Rimmel Stay Matte liquid mousse foundation. Since I said these are my two favorite foundations I will definitely repurchase them. I actually already have another RImmel one from an Influenster box awhile back that I’ll be cracking into very soon!

Next is the NYX HD Studio Finishing Powder. I really enjoyed this powder, but with it being a loose powder it was kind of a hassle to use so I probably won’t go back to this pretty much just because I prefer pressed powder.

I also finished up several other favorites: Maybelline Instant Age Rewind concealer, ELF Eyelid Primer, and Physician’s Formula Eye Booster Eyeliner. I love all of these products and will always repurchase them.

One product I really did not enjoy at all was the Not Your Mother’s Dry Shampoo. I have used other dry shampoos that absorb oils in my hair so much better than this one, so I will not be buying this one again.

A few products that I would consider repurchasing are the Olay Fresh Effects moisturizer, the Herbal Essences body wash, and the Dickinson’s Pore Perfecting Toner.None of these are absolute favorites of mine but they did work well enough for me that if I had a coupon or something I would probably get it again.

I hope you all are having a wonderful December and enjoying any time off you may have from school or anything and I will talk to you guys in my next post!

Current Favorite Products!

Long time no blog! I haven’t blogged since April and I miss it so much! My life got a little crazy busy for awhile but it has finally slowed down quite a bit over the past month or so which got me thinking about starting my blogging back up. So here I am! I figured a good welcome back to the blogosphere post would be to tell you about my current favorite products so let’s get to it…

The first product I’ve loved is a cult classic: Queen Helene Mint Julep Face Mask. I had actually never tried this product until just recently and boy am I glad I finally did. I’m attributing a lot of my skin looking better to this mask. It seriously deep cleans and feels so good on the skin! The mint is extremely strong so be careful not to get it near your eyes, but other than that this mask is awesome!

My next two favorites are my two go-to lip colors as of recently. I’ve been so into brighter and bolder lips the past couple months and since I work six or more hours at a time and can’t touch up my lipstick I like to wear products that will stay all day even through drinking or eating. The Wet n Wild Balm Stain in “Red-y or Not” and the CoverGirl lipstick in “Tempt” both fit those exact criteria. The Wet n Wild balm stain lasts literally ten to twelve hours on my lips and still looks bold and bright red at the end of the day. The CoverGirl lipstick is a bit drying but the color is so beautiful and it stays all day that I can get past it. These two lip products are both so good and so affordable and perfect colors for this time of year!

My next favorite is the current foundation I’m using: the CoverGirl Clean Whipped Cream Foundation. I got this on clearance at Target awhile back so unfortunately I think it’s discontinued, but I still wanted to mention it. This foundation is super light on the skin but it still has awesome coverage. It also controls oil very well but doesn’t dry my skin out either. I am pretty bummed that its discontinued but it you can still find it anywhere I would definitely recommend it, especially for oily skin girls like myself.

My last two favorites are blushes. The first is Benefit’s Rockateur. This rosey mauve blush is so perfect for days when I’m in a rush because it’s almost like a blush and subtle highlight in one. It gives the most beautiful glow to the cheeks while the color is super natural and perfect for everyday. Along the same lines is the Kardashian Radiant Ombre Blush in “Glimmer 515″. This line of blushes is actually my favorite of all time, but that’s a topic for another day. Glimmer is a beautiful purpley shade but even on my fair skin doesn’t look like Barney or over the top at all. It’s definitely different than a usual pink or coral color but I think it’s the best kind of different!

So that’s everything I’ve been loving and using on a regular basis. I am so excited to be blogging again! I have so many blog post ideas in my head that I can’t wait to do.

I hope you guys enjoyed!

March Empties!

I’ve decided to do smaller empties posts more often instead of having to talk about so many products in one most. Over the past month or so I’ve used up a good mix of makeup and non-makeup items. Here’s what I’ve used up!

Hempz Treats Delicious Body Lotion in Sugar Lemon Squares: I found this at TJ Maxx awhile back and it smelled absolutely amazing! I’m a sucker for lemon scents so it was a no brainer for me to get this. It was a nice body lotion though. It was thick and moisturized really nicely.

The Body Shop Tea Tree Toner: I wanted to like this product so badly but it just didn’t do much for me. My skin works best with salicylic acid so since this didn’t have that ingredient, it just didn’t work out.

Up & Up Eye Makeup Remover: I’m not picky when it comes to eye makeup remover. This stuff works great and I’ll probably use it again in the future.

Bath & Body Works “Paris Amour” Fragrance Mist: I’m more of a perfume gal over fragrance mist anymore but this scent was nice. My sister actually gave this to me because she thought it was too sweet but I enjoyed the sweetness. I probably wouldn’t use it again though.

Yes to Cucumbers Makeup Remover Wipes: They got cut out of the photo but you can see the corner of them there. I really enjoyed these wipes. They removed a lot of my makeup and didn’t irritate my skin. I’m trying to move away from makeup wipes for now but if I were to want some again I’d definitely get these again.

Physician’s Formula Lash Boosting Mascara: Another disappointing PF mascara. I love that these have natural ingredients and aren’t harming, but I have yet to have a PF mascara that does anything worthwhile to my lashes. I won’t be purchasing any more.

Benefit They’re Real Mascara: This is one of my favorite mascaras ever and if it wasn’t so expensive I’d have already repurchased it. I’ve talked about this mascara about a million times so I’ll just leave it at that.

Revlon Nearly Naked Foundation: I finished a foundation! I liked this one a lot. It was very lightweight but gave surprisingly good coverage and looked quite natural on the skin. I have found others that I enjoy more, however, so I won’t be repurchasing.

ELF Under Eye Concealer & Highlighter: I’m not a big fan of the highlighter side but I loved the concealer side. It covered and brightened my under eyes really well and made them look super awake. I might repurchase in the future.

ELF “Candid Coral” Blush: I finished a whole blush! Candid Coral is one of my favorite blush colors of all time. It is absolutely perfect for everyday and gives such a beautiful glow to the cheeks. I won’t be repurchasing anytime soon as I have so many other blushes, but I’d consider it in the future.

March 2014 Favorites!

I can’t believe another month has come and gone! This year is flying by so far! But, with another month past it’s time for another monthly favorites post. I switched up the products I used this month quite a lot but there were a handful of items that I really loved.

I have a whole cheek combo that I’ve been loving this month! First, my Wet n Wild Fergie Shimmer Palette in Rose Champagne Glow. I did a full review on this product but I’ve been loving it so much I wanted to give it another little shout out here. This is a beautiful subtle highlight that gives the most natural and pretty glow to the face. I love it so much. Next is the Pixi Subtly Suntouched Bronzer I got in an Ipsy several months ago. I don’t wear a whole lot of bronzer but this one is really nice on my fair skin. It doesn’t look muddy or orangey and it gives a subtle contour. It can also work well dusted all over the face for an all over glow. The final part of my cheek combo is the new Milani Matte Baked Blush in Bella Rosa. This blush is a super intense pinky red color. It is extremely pigmented and is very easy to go overboard with, but I apply it with a stippling brush and it gives the most natural looking flush to the cheeks. It might be in my top favorite blushes of all time!

I wore a ton of different lip products this month but the Maybelline Color Sensational Lip Gloss in Raspberry Reflections really stood out to me. It is a beautiful light orchid color that I think looks really nice on my skin tone. And the formula of these Maybelline glosses is amazing! They are so smooth and pigmented and feel so nice and comfortable on the lips. I just love it!

My last two favorites are two concealers. I couldn’t pick just one to talk about! The first is an oldie but a goodie, the Maybelline Instant Age Rewind Eraser Dark Circles. I’ve used this before in the past and have loved it so I decided to get another one a couple months ago and fell in love with it all over again. It is seriously one of the best concealers out there. It covers everything so well and blends into the skin beautifully. The second concealer is the Flower Brightening Concealer. I have a full review on this concealer but again, I just wanted to give it an extra shout out in my favorites. I only use this on my under eyes because the yellow tones in the concealer really helps to counteract the blue-ness of my dark circles. It covers really well and brightens the area just enough.

Uni VoxBox!

I took a a bit of an unexpected hiatus from blogging. I’ve been working so much recently and then on my day off when I planned on doing some blogging I had a stomach bug. But now I finally have some time to write some blog posts!

Today’s post is all about this month’s Uni VoxBox from Influenster. This box is geared towards college students and I was actually pretty impressed with some of the stuff they included.

The Uni VoxBox included three non-beauty items and three beauty items. The first non-beauty item in the box is a box of Playtex tampons. Not the most glamorous item to get but definitely a necessity. It’s nice to have so that I won’t have to go out and purchase some next time I need them. Next is an ink pen from Pilot. I personally love pens and this one writes really well. Nothing is worse than a pen that doesn’t write well so this is good to have. The last non-beauty item is a bottle of Red Rose flavor enhancing drops. You basically add a few drops of it to water and it flavors your water. The flavor I got is raspberry tea.

Now onto the beauty items! First up is a box of Broadway Nails ImPress press on manicure in a really pretty floral design (the name isn’t on the packaging anywhere so I’m not sure what it’s called). I actually tried these out as an accent nails and will have a NOTD posts talking more about them soon! Next up is the Rimmel Stay Matte Mousse Foundation. I was super excited to get this product! Ever since it came out there have been nothing but awesome reviews for it and I love a matte foundation! I’ll have a full review on this product soon as well! The last product in the box is an NYC Expert Last Lipstick in the shade “Forever Fuchsia.” I don’t love this lipstick but for how much it’s worth, I’m fairly impressed. The color is really bright and fun and it feels nice on the lips. It stays for a couple hours but then gets pretty patchy. But like I said, for how much it’s worth it’s a good product.

*I received these products complimentary from Influenster for testing purposes.*
